The birth of Charlie

After I met Charlie’s parents at their maternity session, I knew that the birth of their baby boy was going to be an event no one would ever forget. Much like their maternity session, the labor and birth were filled with moments of laughter and moments of extreme sadness. All of us in the room got to hear Callie and Stan’s love story — from how they met to their first real date and when they got married (and everything in between). They have a love that most people dream to have — unconditional. And then they worked so hard together to have this baby boy, birth him and snuggle him for his entire life.   These images are a celebration of his labor, his birth, his baptism and up until his last breath.  Sweet Charlie lived 37 minutes.

1 Samuel 1:27–28 “I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the LORD. For his whole life he will be given over to the LORD.”
