Sabrina had a long birthday-day yesterday. Daddy took the day off to spend the day with us and we filled the day with all sorts of plans. We went to Kerby Lane for vegan pancakes and then to Mayfield Park to explore. Since it was almost one-hundred degrees by the time we got there, no one was really up for hiking around or exploring. Tyler voiced his displeasure a few minutes after we got there. Not only that but Sabrina was really was hoping a friend was going to meet her to play with the peacocks. When I said we were just spending the day together as a family she gave me this look like, “really… but why?”
Anyway — we headed to whole foods for lunch and got home just in time to take a good nap. But, with presents sitting on the dining room table it was hard for her to even think about a nap. She went to her room but sang and played with the new toys she’d opened before we left the house. At some point she shouted out, “I don’t want to take a nap.” No kidding…like the singing didn’t give that away.
Then we had family over for dinner for her favorite meal (which is anything wrapped in a tortilla) … and then cake, a late bedtime and an early morning. Heaven forbid our little girl sleep until seven.
So — our morning today started off rough … but she got it together just in time to have a good time with all of her friends. She was very excited about her party hats and the cupcakes. You gotta admit, they are pretty darn cute!
Do you need a good recipe for your child with food allergies? This, my friends, is awesome!! And it’s what I used in the cupcakes.
There are no eggs in this chocolate wacky cake, and mixing is easy.
