Meet the kids of Avery Ranch who were challenged and *most* accepted the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. You will notice that Tyler wasn’t so interested in getting his hair wet (you know, that would require a bath later … plus he doesn’t like water in his eyes). Anyway … each of these kids were challenged by other friends and made their own videos and continued the challenge.
Never heard of this challenge (then you must not be on Facebook)? — but read more about it here! The best part of the challenge for me (other than watching these faces and their reactions) was learning more about ALS. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease,” is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. ALS basically kills a person’s muscles but leaves the mind alone. It sounds like the bulk of the money made from the ice bucket challenge will help offset the astronomical costs of living with the disease as well as research into learning more about the disease and finding a cure.
