Back to school (already?) ~ Austin Child Photographer

So, it’s only July and technically school doesn’t start for several more weeks (I’m pretty sure I can say ‘several’ until it’s down to three weeks) … but with all the talk of school supplies and back to school clothes and all the ‘necessities’ of a future Kindergartener, I figured it was time to get started on my idea!

I knew I wanted to do something creative for a back-to-school photo shoot … something clever and fun … and silly … and this is what I came up with!  And I’m oh so excited about it.  I mean — so so so very excited about.  The kids really had fun.  The boys, of course, smacked at the hanging apples.  The girls read Little Women and giggled at their mothers.  And everyone ate the props!  (and one sweet kiddo even asked if they were washed as he bit into it).

I’m not really a prop kind of gal — that is, not until now.   But I’ve been in the mood to get my creative soul running!  Here are just a few images from last night …  oh, and yes — the girls are identical twins … and thankfully they are dressed differently because they’ve even lost the exact same two teeth!

More to come …
The books are as old as they look. Little Women is a copy from 1890 and completely falling apart. And the red book is a textbook from my stepfathers personal collection from when he was a child. And I love how the kiddos attempted to read the books … and sweet Mikey … he just couldn’t get enough of the book, “filled with all numbers!”

How much do these sweet little sessions cost, you wonder?  Well — contact me and we’ll chat all about it!

There’s that nifty little form you can use or you can simply call me!

PS:  You’ll have to wait to see Sabrinas’ until her actual first day of school (along with the traditional and slightly boring back-pack photo).

PPS:   The hanging apples were inspired from Jinky Art.   The rest fell into place by little ole Katie Eaton Photography and my brain that sometimes never turns off.
